Barron, We love and miss You! September 16, 1955- November 18, 2023

Barron Maurice Godwin was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 16, 1955 to Tanzie Lee Godwin and Robert Oneal Godwin. Both parents now deceased. Barron was the youngest of 5 children, 3 older brothers and 1 older sister. Older brother, Gecover T. Godwin, now deceased. Surviving siblings, Sherry Godwin-Bolejack, Sherman O. Godwin and Emanuel T. Godwin all raised in Austin, Texas.

Barron was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was also blessed with lifetime partner, Julie Villerreal, 2 daughters, Julie Marie and Erica, and 1 son, Ruben and several grandchildren all of Austin, Texas. Barron was and is loved by all who knew him. He loved to dress and dance and was very athletic as a youth. He loved sports and was very outgoing and sociable. His smile and laughter were infectious To FATHER GOD be the glory! HE loves you, Barron, and brought you from a mighty long way showing HIS love all along the way, praise GOD.

Barron was baptized into Christ at age 6 as a member of the Parkway Church of Christ in Memphis. His family moved to Austin in March of 1963 and joined the Eastside Church of Christ.

Beloved, Barron departed this life and went home to be with his FATHER on November 17, 2023. He is and will always be truly missed and loved until we meet again. your only sister Sherry Godwin
