Barbara Wissmiller, 89, passed peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Bonifay, Florida. Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Born on August 25, 1935, in Bloomington, Illinois, Barbara was the daughter of Donald and Rose Gaddis. She graduated from Lexington High School and went on to attend the Bloomington School of Practical Nursing. Her education laid the foundation for a lifelong career dedicated to caring for others.
Barbara devoted her entire professional life to nursing, serving in various facilities and roles throughout her career. Her commitment to the well-being of others was evident in every aspect of her work. She brought compassion and dedication to each patient she cared for, embodying the true spirit of service.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Barbara worshiped the Lord with deep devotion and held a profound love and understanding of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her spiritual strength was a source of comfort and inspiration to those around her.
Barbara was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters Debra (David) Blevins, Julie Jordan, Lisa (Tony) Wilson; sons Alan Wissmiller, Randy (Julie) Wissmiller, and Jack (Donna) Wissmiller. She is also survived by her 12 Grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. Her family was central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Wissmiller; her parents Donald and Rose Gaddis; and one brother, Jerry Gaddis.
A woman of immense kindness and unwavering faith, Barbara touched countless lives through both her professional work as a nurse and her personal relationships. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Her one wish to the world would be for everyone to come to know and love the Lord Jesus.
