Barbara's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara White, a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, resilience, and an unwavering positivity. Born on December 10, 1956, Barbara left us too soon on January 14, 2026. Her vibrant personality and unwavering kindness will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to meet her.

Barbara leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her daughter - Desiree Barclay, and her sons - Christopher and Gene White. Her affection for her family extended to her son-in-law, Josh Barclay, and her granddaughters - Maddison and Laila White, Rylynn and Teagan Barclay. Barbara was also blessed to have a great granddaughter, Scarlett Conklin. She also shared a special bond with her sisters, Brenda Signorello and Sonja Benton.

Her legacy will endure through her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchild, whom she adored. Barbara became a grandmother in 2005, with further joy following in 2013, 2015 and 2018, and she embraced the role of a great-grandmother in 2024. She believed that 'Family is the most important' and demonstrated this by giving everything she had for her family.

Barbara graduated high school from El Capitan, California in 1976. She dedicated a significant part of her life to her career, retiring from USMC in 2021. Upon retirement, she chose to reside in Rock Hill, SC, where she indulged in her favorite recreational activities which included spending quality time with her family, gardening, and reading.

Barbara was known for her quirky and full-of-life personality. She loved playing Nerts, and her favorite color was yellow, a fitting choice for someone who epitomized sunshine and warmth.

Her lessons of always staying positive, even in challenging circumstances, have been an inspiration to all. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts and lives, and her love and values will continue to inspire her family and friends. Barbara's life was a testament to resilience and kindness, qualities that will continue to live on through her cherished family.

While we mourn the loss of our beloved Barbara, we celebrate her life and feel grateful for the precious moments we shared. She has left us a legacy of love, and she will always be remembered.
