Dear Sutherland family, my heart goes out to you all. Barbara was so dear and so loved by so many. She always made me feel welcome and at home. Barbara was the first person I would go to at family gatherings because of her warmth and kindness. She always asked about my boys and shared so openly about her family and life. I will miss our conversations and her wonderful hugs.

I feel forever blessed to have had this amazing woman for my mother! She was strong, funny, daring, adventurous, always threw caution to the wind, a bit of a rule breaker (nothing illegal .. dad was in the military and then a cop lol), and always soft and loving. I am forever grateful for all that you taught me mom! The important things about life, and the silly things like never pass up a fabulous bannister to slide down no matter how old you are! And how you always said to buy the kids squirt guns because it’s the cleanest fun they can have. I will love you always and see you when I get there.
