My sincere condolences, Bill and family. Barb and I shared many conversations about our Mothers, and families. I was very sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed by so many.

Barb told me once that she'd really like to try a canoe trip someday, so I asked my hubby Rob if he'd take us and he agreed. Barb's friend, Marie, came with us. We had 2 really lovely days at Massassauga and lots of laughs.
The first evening Barb and I went into the woods around our campsite to gather kindling in our p.j.'s. We had quite a chuckle as I told her it was funny to be doing this with her as I'd always pictured her as such a dignified lady (which she was, but she knew how to have fun).
Another evening, Barb suggested we do an early a.m. silent paddle the next morning - we did that in p.j.'s too, but Barb kept on making little observations of our surroundings while on the lake, so I gave her a gentle reminder, "isn't this supposed to be a silent paddle". I'll admit, it was hard not to comment on the beauty of the lake and the sweet songs of the birds.
After this trip Rob always referred to it as "the old ladies canoe trip", since all 3 of us gals were older than he was!
I have many lovely memories of Barb, our 'girl' times, and of our dinners/parties with Bill and Rob over the years. Barb was loyal, considerate, fun and a loving soul. I'll always cherish the times we had together, and I thank God for putting her on my path after we moved to Parry Sound in 1998 - she was a blessing and a dear friend. I miss her and think of her and her family often.

My brothers and I were very sorry to hear of Barb's passing. We remember her with great respect and much nostagia. I can still here her the sound of her laugh, which I always found bright and uplifting.

Warm remembrance of Barb's kind response to a health issue. She assisted me with sincere caring attention and I have remembered that time. I also recall how she shared with a group of people who had differing opinions. Barb was a peace maker and many of us cherish our memories of her.

To My Sister Barbara
It is hard to imagine it has been just about one year since your passing,
It is hard to imagine that I can’t talk to you anymore over the phone,
It is hard to imagine that I can’t see your wonderful smile and feel your warm hugs
It is hard to imagine that I can’t hear you sing
It is hard to imagine that in this year since your passing you were not part of a nephew’s wedding, and the birth of a new grand niece.
Sometimes I feel life is so unfair.
A little piece of my heart is missing and it always will be. Love you forever.
Your sister, Patricia
To My Sister, Barbara
“I thought of you today
But that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday
And the days before that too.
I think of you in silence
And I often speak your name,
All I have now are my memories And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake
From which I'll never part.
God has you in His arms And I have you in my heart.”

Thankyou Jennifer and Jeffrey for planning this and the invite. I think of you all often. Your mom was a very special lady.
