Barbara Ann “Nana" Peterman, 73, of Dothan, AL passed away on January 10, 2023.

Barbara was born on February 27, 1949 to the late Mr. Edward Alphonso Kincey and Mrs. Nunnie Mae Salter-Kincey. In 1965 she met Oscar Joe Peterman and they wed in 1970 going on to have three children:  Christopher Peterman, Latreeka Williams, and Mareeka Peterman. 

She dedicated her life to Jehovah on June 10, 1975 and remained a faithful servant till her death. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters:  Neesie Cochran, Lou Ann Johnson, Betty Joyce Crittenden, and Mary Bradley; and two brothers:  Walter Kincey and Alphonso Jr. Kincey. 

She is survived by her husband, Oscar Peterman, three children:  Christopher Peterman, Latreeka Williams (Jason) and Mareeka Peterman; one son-in-law:  Jason Williams; four grandchildren:  Ahriel Bell, Destiny Simms, Olivia Peterman, and Jayla Peterman; one sister, Evelyn Varner;  four sister-in-laws: Betty Peterman, Roberta Gilbert,  Chris Ann Kincey, and Mary Kincey; one brother-in-law: Napolean Bradley; and a host of relatives and friends.

Barbara Ann “Nana” loved to spend time and travel with her family. Being a grandmother brought her so much joy. It was always “Nana” and her girls. She loved “bargain” shopping with her daughter and grandkids. 

Her house and kitchen were always open to family and friends. It was always full of warmth and kindness. She never turned down an opportunity to cook and feed her friends and family. She never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she went. She was deeply loved by all her friends and family and we will miss her greatly.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, January 16th at 3:00pm  at Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary, 814 Headland Ave, Dothan, AL 36303.
