Barbara was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church. She enjoyed reading her bible, collecting angels and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Barbara is survived by her only daughter, Patricia Ann (Johnny F. ) Smith, granddaughter Jamie Lyn Smith (Lou Trusnik Jr.), grandson Jason Ray Smith, brother Victor (Beverly) Carpenter, sisters Bessie Merrill (Roy, deceased) and Linda Kincaid (James, deceased), along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Slaithel and Audra Carpenter, brothers Gene and Kenneth, sisters Caroline and Diane Carpenter, Daisy Yoak and Eloise Nichols.
