Background
Barbara was the CEO of Brighter Beginnings, a non-profit organization that touched and improved the lives of nearly 5,000 children and their parents in the East Bay. Her primary goal was to set up programs to improve early childhood literacy, offer healthcare services and provide resources for parenting and child development. Through Barbara's dedication and leadership, Brighter Beginnings became a beacon for many under-represented families in the Oakland, Richmond, and Antioch communities.
