Barbara's obituary
On January 20, 2022, our mother, Barbara Todd (Latasiewicz) passed away into God’s graces after a brief battle with a brain tumor. A warrior throughout life, she was almost 71 years old. She is survived by many loving individuals, including her Brother Jimmy Latasiewicz, son John Jay Todd, her daughter Michelle L White, stepkids Katie and Boa Weems, many grandkids Melanie Todd, Brandon Todd, Lisa Todd, Jordan Todd, Victoria Todd, and her great-grandchild Kasen Todd. Along with her Uncle Richard Latasiewicz, her nephews Craig Latasiewicz, Keith Latasiewicz, Davidson Rodriguez, James Ray, Hodges Lorenz, her nieces Nicole Turner, Shantel Grant, and Mercades Rangel, and several great-nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her parents Donna Teague and Eugene Latasiewicz, her sister Bonnie Lorenz and her daughter Lisa L Neuman.
Primarily growing up in the Chicago, IL area she moved to the panhandle of Texas around 1974 where she raised her kids in Plainview, Tx, and started her career with the United States Postal Service. A few years after the passing of her daughter, she married Walter Todd, and in an effort to help the community she pursued a career at the Hale County Sheriff's Department. Upon the birth of Michelle, she took a step back from her law enforcement career, which allowed her to further some of her hobbies such as sewing, painting, and singing. Barbara was well known for her use of glitter, love of everything pink and always wanting to make people smile even if it took a dirty joke or two.
We are working on getting the Celebration of Life planned and will update our memorial website with that info as soon as we have it.
Please share your thoughts and memories you have of Barbi it will mean a lot to all of her loved ones.
