I will always have fond memories of family gatherings with Barbara. She loved to tease and poke fun at her siblings and recall days of their youth. Our family will miss her dearly. ❤️

Barbara was like the big sister I never had and always wanted. She dated my brother Randy in high-school & got married shortly after. I was thrilled she was family.  Growing up I often would get together with all her siblings. Her mom, Rosemary was another blessing. Randy & Barb had a handsome son, Brett (my Godson) and eventually they parted ways 20 years later, although we always kept in touch regardless. Barbara & I also continued keeping in touch and we would visit one another often thru-out the decades.  She was always my "go-to" person growing up as she would cover up for me if I got into trouble. Barb would pick me up and give me guidance that I always trusted & cherished. She was always kind, loving, gorgeous, down to earth and honest. Her beauty inside & out always shined with sincerity. I have so many fond memories I could write a book about growing up and getting older together for over 63 years. She was my maid of honor when I got married, and we would babysit each others children throughout the years.  She was a wonderful daughter, mom, Aunt, sister, sister-in-law, friend and absolutely one of my favorites! She now has her wings and with her parents, relatives and brother Peter at peace. Barb will always be missed and remain in my heart forever. Love you Barbara always & forever, I won't say good-bye, however, until we meet again. R.I.P as your star from Heaven above showers us all with your love...

At an early age, Barb, the oldest of 6 kids, naturally and gracefully assumed duties of built in babysitter.  I was 3 yrs. younger and next in line.  Big sis Barb walked me everywhere when living in Irvington, NJ.  Many times just the two of us. Even before I was school age.  Once she found 60 cents on the sidewalk and shared it with me.  When visiting our aunt, Barb went to a small nearby fair.  She came back with a stuffed animal won at a wheel of chance.  She then took me to the fair with a dime mom gave me.  I placed my dime on a number I wasn't tall enough to see on the high counter.  The wheel was spun and I won a big red Tonka fire truck!  Big sis had to help me carry it back as I walked on air!               We eventually moved to Whippany, NJ in the mid 1950s.  In her mid teens, Barb and friends attended a nearby county fair.  Soon after mom served French fries with our supper and Barb told us to try them with ketchup.  Ew! that sounded so bizarre, until we tried it.  I never stopped thanking Barb for ketchup on my fries!        Barb was a high school senior when I entered as freshman.  Seniors were allowed a day of freshman hazing and from stories heard, I was worried until  big sis said she'd protect me.  Barb was popular and well liked in school. Her word went far. The seniors didn't hassle me.         After high school came business school and her first job.  Barb spent her first paycheck on gifts for the family.          There are just too many memories of Barb's kindness and love to share in this space.   She will always remain in my heart and not be forgotten.

Kathy remembers Rosemary bringing Barbara on her Bible Study, probably because Kathy was a challenge too! And she remembers the fur hat, and loved it! But she especially remembers Barbara having a deep understanding and appreciation of the truth. I remember when Kathy was invited to Pioneer School (2 weeks back then) in Middletown NY and she had me join the family for dinner. I don't recall what we had, but it was really good. Along with everything else, she was a great cook.  Mostly though, she was always looking out for others.

I remember sitting in on Barbara’s Bible study - my mom ( Ginny Kenworthy ) was conducting the study & ahead of time she told me:”Barbara is a challenge- she’s a deep thinker & her questions require a lot of research.”

It was true - Barbara wanted to be thoroughly convinced she was learning the truth & her curiosity, intelligence & sincere desire to come to know Jehovah was built on solid evidence. What a pleasure & you-better-be-on-your-toes kind of study she was!

In 1987, Barb & I were neck & neck on the same timeline when our babies were due -she came in first! & got her long awaited beloved daughter Abby💗 Two weeks later at the end of July, Wesley was born ( no less beloved & still a very sweet son💞)

For me, that was a bond we have always shared - along with all the baby sweaters & matching ones for me that she made & I still have - she was such a giver & I can just imagine she’ll take up right where she left off - knitting beautiful sweaters for others we welcome back to life in God’s new world🥰

Barbara was such a joy to have in the congregation and to work with out in field service. My parents would stop in to see her and Rose Marie. She would be taking care of her mom, the cats and in the spring the flowers. Her smile was warm and inviting and a great plus in the ministry.

So sorry for your loss, may the love of family, friends and memories  sustain you during this difficult time.

The Penn Family

Barbara was a loyal caregiver to her mother Rosemary for many years, and a loyal servant of our Heavenly Father.   She endured to the end...
Barbara was special. When I first met her, all I saw was this beautiful, sophisticated woman. We were meeting for field service at the Gillette Kingdom Hall.  She was wearing a “Lara from Dr Zhivago” Fur Hat! Only she could pull that off😊 Years later, she became my sister-in-law, and I got to know the true Barb. A woman of contradictions… Yes, worldly wise, intelligent, beautiful, and sophisticated yet so very young at heart.  She was such a Wordsmith.  So much so that we lovingly nicknamed her “ Bombastic Babs”. But she was the one you always wanted to have on your team playing trivia games. She ate through crossword puzzle books. She loved to knit and made beautiful sweaters, etc. for others. Loved anything purple. Loved collecting stuffed animals and dolls. Never sure if she was buying them for Abbey or for herself! Barb will be best known for her warm, generous and loving heart. She loved Jehovah and his family, she loved her family, Brett, Abbey, her mom, brothers and sisters, and all the add-ons! She loved her pets. If you were privileged enough to be part of her world, you experienced her love too! She opened her home and heart to me and my family when we needed it which I will be forever grateful! Our deepest condolences to Abbey and Brett and the rest of her family. We may have lost that Barbara long ago, but she will never be forgotten.❤️❤️❤️
Great time on Barbara's  motorcycle,  we rode up to walkill for a tour at the farm!! It was great! Beautiful  person
