Just heard the news! Can't believe it! She was so youthful! I first met Barbara exactly 25 years ago, summer of '97, her and Sammy lead car for International MR2 Owners' Club Malibu Rally. Incredible, was it the most fun I've ever had in a car? Barb and Sam were the funnest, most unforgettable couple I've ever met. I'm thankful I met you, Barbara. Gosh Sammy, condolences for your loss, I'm sure it's a mighty big one.

Married to the guy she was married to, little Barbi was the bravest human being we'd ever seen. Scary fast, Sam's passenger seat is not an easy place to sit. Fearless, there was Barbi, sitting beside him, grinning away with that heartwarming smile, hanging in there like a pro WRC navigator. When the club would come for track day at Willow Springs, little Barbi would roll out the red carpet for us, cooking it up, laying out a meal for 80 guys! Thanks for the memories, Barbi! I love you Aunt Barbara.. I wish I knew you more in my life than I did. I wish she knew how much the books and toys she sent to us kids when we moved to Egypt meant to us. Especially to me. Helped us feel less alone.

Although we were not able to see the two of you often, I was always struck with the thought of how much each of you loved the other. It was always evident. Our hearts go out to you Sam in this time of great loss. Know that Barbara will be cheering you on with the rest of your life. A love like that always wants the best for the other.
