... my pal, Terry, dropping b…
... my pal, Terry, dropping by to cheer me up, Sunday. Surprise, I gifted him a special shirt he once gifted me, namesake to a business he'd founded, 20 years ago. The day I brought this home, Barbara must have nabbed it, squirreled it away as a keepsake, to the back of her dresser drawer! Brand spanking new, unworn, I think dearest Barbara would have gotten a real kick out of it, handing this back. First thing I'd been able to feel good about in quite a while. But, get this, the very next day Terry was here, at the house? His wife gets run over! If you can believe that? Godspeed, well wishes Deirdra. Bless your heart -

... trove of stuff turned up in Barbara's drawer! Turns out, Barbara sampled my clothing from time to time, tucked noteworthy articles away in her drawer, for sentimental value, keepsake stuff, notable milestones in our years together, long forgotten the better part of 40 years, squirreled away in her dresser drawer, for me to someday day rediscover, to remind me of special people, lifetime accomplishments (e.g., TOP ROW, left to right: WRX games where I surprised everyone, set the day's fastest time; Palmdale Fall Festival for our 20th anniversary; CENTER ROW, left to right: MR2 Track Day keepsake; dearest Terry's GRD4Speed keepsake; my Class of 2002 Master's Degree with every fellow graduate inscribed; keepsake from my Citysearch Stats gig, '04, where I laid foundation to integration of central place theory to the spatial void of virtual reality; Radwood, 2021; my TORC keepsake from my 2013 runner-up best-in-class award; my keepsake tee from our day at Jethawks baseball; BOTTOM FOUR; left to right: keepsake from my years at the Los Angeles Herald having made analyst by age 30; shirt I once wore to work at Park Oaks Liquor, '78 to '80; genuine California Customs keepsake brother Ray and I once worked, late '70s; an Orange County Register keepsake where I served as an award winning district manager, late '80s) -

... going through your better-half's stuff, you find the darndest things! In the drawer, with all the special keepsakes dearest Barbara squirelled away for me to someday find, her bridesmake keepsake, from dearest Samara's wedding! How about that? -

... loneliest, ugliest site you'll ever see in your lifetime, I can now personally attest, it's opening the doors, seeing your wife's closet, indifferently stripped naked; bare. The equivalent of 25 loads of laundry, over a two day period, every article of clothing painstakingly folded, treated with utmost respect, if I'm going to have to suck it up, do this thing? It's got to be to my standard; my satisfaction -

... care to know, what's the most awful feeling you'll ever suffer? I can now personally attest, it's high crimes and misdemeanors, erasing dearest Barbara from her drawers and closet, bagging her worldly belongings. Truck comes Tuesday -

... it didn't take an act of congress for dearest Barbara's playful, imaginative nature to purcolate to the surface, boil over. A treasure from the 1980s, straight out of Barbara's portfolio, award winning cerial box campaign, Barbara could do it all. Encapsulating the epoch, SURVIVAL OF YUPPIES cerial, denote the period piece moon watch, and the official yuppie car of the 1980s. Trained eye can't miss Barbara's mischevious M5 insignia, emblazoned on the grill of a three series BMW, a direct reflection of 80s yuppy's propensity for adorning their low-end BMWs, with false insignias from high end BMWs -

These were just a sample of her award winning ads I was able to get my hands upon. The heyday of full page hard copy newsprint, problematic to scan, necessitates seamless digital imagery applications commonly used by museum curators, at the Smithsonian. All the more problematic, a contradiction immediately illuminates insofar as the sub-optimal nature, presenting idealized hard copy on the information superhighway.

Her gentle, delicate nature, beaming through every layout she produced, Barbara earned regional and national accolades, every decade she worked- asj.
