Barbara Gram Hefferan

1938-2025

Barabara Hefferan (87) of 21145 Cardinal Pond Terrace, Apt 228 Ashburn, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on April 14th, 2025.

She was born on February 17, 1938, to Andrew Gram Woodford and Mary Gertrude Woodford (McGeorge) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from White Fish Bay Wisconsin High School in 1956 and Western Michigan University in 1961, a four-and-a-half-year program specializing in Occupational Therapy. She was married in December of 1960 to John Hefferan, her husband of 64 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Linda Dunn (Bernie) of Cordova, TN, Daniel Hefferan of Rougemont, NC, and Laurel Pardo (Noel) of Chantilly, VA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Kelly Trainor (Sean) of Conroe, TX, Ashly Henderson of Cordova, TN, Shannon Dunn of Cordova, TN, Joseph Hefferan of Graham, NC, Space Force Sargeant Ben Pardo (Erina) of Okinawa Japan, Holly Pardo of Richmond, VA, Drew Pardo of Chantilly, VA. Additionally surviving are four great grandchildren: Lynn Trainor of Conroe, TX, Ryden Pardo, Chance Pardo, and Leo Pardo all of Okinawa, Japan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She practiced Occupational Therapy until her children were born. She was a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. After her husband retired, they spent many summers at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. For many years, she volunteered at Greenbriar West Elementary School, Meals on Wheels, and was an election official for Fairfax County. Throughout the years, she and John hosted many foreign exchange students. She was a member of Pender United Methodist Church, Fairfax VA, for about 45 years. She was actively serving in many capacities. Her participation in the choir brought her great joy. She recently expressed how fulfilling her life was being a wife and a mother.

The burial will be at Quantico National Cemetery on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
