Barbara's obituary

BARBARA LEE (GREGERSEN) GROSE

BARBARA L. GROSE, 84, of Flat Rock, Michigan, went to her eternal home on July 5, 2023, after battling dementia.

She was born on November 2, 1938, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, the beloved daughter of Mahlon Charles and Helen Opal (Kennedy) Gregersen.

Barbara spent her formative years in Lincoln Park and graduated from Lincoln Park High School, Class of 1956. On June 30, 1956, she married her sweetheart, Ronald Eugene Grose. Together, they recently celebrated 67 years of cherished marriage and unwavering commitment. Over the years, they were blessed with four children, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Mahlon (Mike) Gregersen, and her son Jimmy John Grose. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald, her son Michael R. Grose, her daughters Kimberly K. (James) Affholter and Shawn M. (Scott) Polak, and her sister Yvonne Schoedel. Additionally, she leaves behind two nieces and two nephews.

Barbara was not only a devoted parent to her own children but also stood in as a mother to those in need. She was deeply committed to her faith and served her church for many years, participating in the choir, holding church leadership roles, serving as a secretary, and organizing children's programs, among numerous other responsibilities. Barbara had a multitude of passions and interests. She adored her family, cherished her feline companions, found joy in music, pursued quilting, and delighted in activities such as birdwatching and camping.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 16, at 3:00 pm at the Rockwood First Congregational Church, located at 22600 Mather St, Rockwood, MI 48173. Following the service, guests are invited to join the family for food and fellowship in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's honor to the Rockwood First Congregational Church.
