It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Barbara "Bobbi" Giltner, a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Born on October 29, 1933, Bobbi led a remarkable life characterized by love, gentleness, optimism, and an unwavering dedication to the service of others.
Bobbi is survived by her cherished son, Marc Giltner, and her beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Jaron Giltner. She also leaves behind a devoted member of her extended family, Roxanne Bell. The love and joy she brought to her family were mirrored in her taste for the simple pleasures in life. Bobbi loved ribeye steak, chicken alfredo, king crab, tortilla soup, grilled salmon, and lamb chops, which she often enjoyed with her favorite drink, iced coffee (black).
Bobbi had a diverse range of interests and passions, each highlighting her zest for life. She was an ardent fan of films, especially "The Sting," and anything featuring Robert Redford. Bobbi was a lover of oriental art and rooted enthusiastically for the USC Trojans. She had a profound appreciation for performances such as "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Cats," "Hamilton," and "The Music Man." In her quiet moments, Bobbi loved reading novels and daydreaming about her favorite vacation spots along the California coast and the tropical paradise of Hawaii.
Possessing an enduring spirit of service, Bobbi was actively involved in several causes that were close to her heart such as Alcoholics Anonymous, ALANON, and Catholic Charities. Her experiences and the wisdom she gained from them led to her life's mantra, "With God, you are never alone".
Bobbi was more than just a loving mother and grandmother. She was a buoyant, caring, gentle, optimistic, and joyous soul whose personality radiated love in every interaction. She was known to have a special affection for the color red, a fitting tribute to her fiery passion and fervent love for life.
Bobbi's legacy is one of kindness and gentleness to all, always placing God first in everything. In her lifetime, she provided loving mentorship for women struggling with addiction. This legacy is as vibrant and powerful as the woman who leaves it behind, touching countless lives and leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
