Barbara A. Bruce, 83, passed away with grace and dignity on July 20, 2023. Barbara was born in Oak Park, IL on March 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Harold and Melba (Morris) Koenig. She became a nurse in 1961 and married the late William (Bill) O. Bruce in 1966. Barbara retired from nursing in 2011, however, she always continued to care for everyone around her. Barbara is survived by her son, William (Julia) Bruce, her daughter and best friend, Danielle Bruce, and her two granddaughters that she loved so much, Lauren and Rachel Bruce. She is also predeceased by her brother, Bruce (Linda) Koenig. Barbara was a loving wife, a beloved mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to so many. She will be dearly missed by all. Private family Interment with a Celebration of Life for all who knew her on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s name can be made to Refuge for Women.
