Ban's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of BP Wong, a man of virtue and remarkable intellect. Born in 1953, BP passed away on the 7th of June, 2024. His spirit of innovation, relentless pursuit of knowledge and unmistakable sense of humor is a legacy that he leaves behind, and one that will continue to make an impact in many lives.
BP was a loving father to his son, Brian; daughter, Debbie; and “dog-ter”, Ponyo, who survives him. His family moments were a cherished part of his life. His marriage in 1979 and the birth of his children were pivotal points in his personal journey. Becoming a grandparent in 2008, he embraced the role with great joy and warmth, adding another layer of love to his life.
Not just a loving family man, BP was a silent leader in the world of engineering. He co-authored two significant works on nano CMOS circuit design, "Nano CMOS Circuit and Physical Design" in 2004 and "Nano-CMOS DFM" in 2008. These impactful contributions to engineering literature underline the unique depth and rigor of his academic prowess.
A man of few words, yet fiercely principled, BP carried an intrinsic belief in standing up for what he believed was right. He was deeply thoughtful, often sentimental and possessed a distinctively dry sense of humor. These qualities sowed the seeds of respect and admiration amongst his peers, friends, and family.
BP was a staunch believer in the power of continuous learning and improvement, a principle he not only practiced but also sought to instill in others. He preached the importance of relentlessly pursuing innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible, a testament to his successful career and lasting legacy.
The best of his lessons and the fruits of his accomplishments reside within every life that he has touched. A memorial service in his honor will be held on August 17, 2024, at 5pm at the Milpitas Seventh-day Adventist Church. BP will be greatly missed, and his memory will continue to inspire future generations of innovators to think creatively and strive for excellence in their pursuits.
