I knew Avery for four months. Meeting Avery was a blessing-- medically, we were very similar and we developed a quick sense of camaraderie and friendship. At the time, I was in the process of being put on TPN and I was terrified; Avery came to visit me in the hospital, bearing fuzzy socks, Oreos, and a sense of friendship that brought unmatched comfort. Genuinely, Avery was one of the most giving people I've ever had the honor of knowing.
