Avery's obituary
Avery Jordan Christiansen passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2024 in Bellingham, WA. He was born in Bellingham on January 16, 1998 to Amanda (Mandy) Christiansen and Joseph Hall. Avery was instantly and infinitely loved by his entire family.
As a child, Avery was full of light. If you knew him, you knew his eyes. They were piercing, a little mischievous, and so joyful. His smile lit up our lives along with his infectious laugh. He also had the best head of hair a guy could ever wish for.
Avery moved to Anacortes at the age of 2 and grew up participating in cub scouts, community sports, and youth group. He was a scholar athlete with a passion for baseball since childhood, until finding his love for welding. It was during High School, with the guidance of Mr. Val Boyce, that he grew in his craft and became a standout welding student. Our family will always be grateful to Mr. Boyce for the friendship, support and guidance he gave to Avery as he began his career.
Avery was always ready to work - whether it was his cleaning infatuation as a toddler helping grandma, building things with his grandpa, or his various jobs throughout high school, including at the Fidalgo Animal Hospital and The Rock Fish Grill.
Avery graduated from Anacortes High School in the class of 2016 and attended Bellingham Technical College, where he excelled in TIG and Aluminum welding, and graduated with his welding certifications in the class of 2018.
At 20 years old, Avery started his career and made Bellingham his permanent home. He worked at several companies as a welder until he found his place at Northwest Modern Fabrications. He genuinely loved his job, co-workers and boss and was proud of his career; always looking for new ways to broaden his certifications.
Avery loved adventure and was always learning new things whether it was golfing, snowboarding, riding motorcycles, new workouts, cooking, or traveling - Avery was up for it.
Above all else, he was fiercely loyal to his friends, and loved his family unequivocally.
Eddie came into Avery’s life at age 4 and became his step-dad a few years later. Eddie and Avery quickly bonded and their love for each other grew as father and son. At age 10, Avery became a big brother to Ava. They shared a love for fast cars, music, and gaming, and have a bond that can’t be described and will never be replaced. And there was no doubt that Avery loved his mom immeasurably. They were extremely close - supporting each other through all life’s ups and downs, but still finding joy - laughing all the time, often at each other for the silliest things.
Avery leaves behind and will be forever loved by his mom, Mandy Murdock (Christiansen), step-dad, Eddie Murdock, and sister Ava Murdock; his grandma Evelyn Christiansen; aunt Melinda Christiansen (Anacortes); aunt and uncle Megan (Christiansen) and Matthew Brown, and cousins Alexis and Lukas Brown (Clovis, CA); step-grandparents Roy and Joy Murdock (Anacortes); half sister Chloe Connolly (Chicago); half brothers and sisters from Joseph’s side, Keely, Heiley, Kortney, Bently, Presley and Cortes, as well as numerous extended family, and friends who cherished him.
Avery is preceded in death by his grandpa Terry Christiansen, grandma Debbie Worthington-Hall, brother Hendrix Hall, and his father Joseph Hall.
A Celebration of Avery’s Life will be held on September 22, 2024 at the Skyline Clubhouse, 6041 Sands Way, Anacortes, WA, 1pm-3pm
26 years was not enough. “We love you to the moon and back, and even up to space.”
