Ava's obituary
Ava Welsh, 73, of Kingman, AZ passed away peacefully and comfortably after a battle with an upper respiratory illness in Newport, WA. She is survived by her last living child Michael, Sister Joy Higley, Younger Brother, Michael Tolbert, her Younger Sister Susan Mosca, Step-daughters Gina and 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren. "Marie" as she was affectionately called by all who knew her, was surely a light in the dark for many.
Having lived a storied life of love, heartache, adventure, hard work, romance, parenthood, grandparenthood and towards her older years as a student earning her Bachelor's of Arts in Child Psychology. Born during a time of the post WW2 generation(baby boomer), she lost two brothers, two sons, numerous cousins, her grand-parents, parents, and her husband of 36 years. All whom have known her have felt better for it, she was genuine. She met Elvis in Kingman, AZ when she was a teenager, she skydived drunk in Las Cruces, NM at age 22, she was a waitress, Keno runner, she read at least 2 books a week, loved her soap operas, playing BINGO, playing the lottery, crocheting, knitting, drawing, playing cards, dice, cribbage, and the occasional video game.
Words used to describe her include but are certainly not limited to:
Smart, beautiful, generous, vivacious, humorous, empathetic, tough, honest, funny, fun, adventurous, determined, protective, kind, happy and faithful.
She fought gloriously at the end, in true Marie fashion, always a fighter, always a fighter. She lived a good life and is surely surrounded by all the spirits, energy, and love by all here and those gone before. Ava was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life.
