Ava's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ava Richardson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on January 8, 2024. Born on November 13, 1956, Ava was a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom in our lives, and her bright spirit will forever be remembered.
Ava was a wonderful mother to her daughter Angela Whitmill, a doting grandmother to A-Lacia Whitmill, Linelle Whitmill, William Mayfield, and Isaiah Mayfield. Ava took great pride in her role as matriarch to her beautiful family, who thrived under her loving and nurturing guidance. As she joins her predeceased parents, Willie and Elliot Richardson, we find comfort in knowing their beautiful reunion is taking place in heaven.
Ava had a zest for life which mirrored in her various interests. A lover of music, she found joy in tunes from Maxwell, Stephanie Mills, and Earth Wind and Fire. Ava was a dedicated fan of the Seattle Seahawks and she enjoyed getting lost in the drama of her favorite Soap Operas. She had a refined palette appreciating the simple pleasures of steak, chicken, and ham, and loved sharing these meals with family and friends. A cold Pepsi was her preferred companion on a summer's day. Ava's fondness for the colors white, green, and brown often reflected in her tastefully done home décor.
To describe Ava merely as loving, honest, down-to-earth, or a good friend would fall significantly short of capturing her essence. She was all these things but so much more. Those who had the privilege to know her also had the joy of experiencing her rich personality and immeasurable kindness. Ava not only touched lives but left an indelible impact on all she knew.
In the wake of her absence, Ava will be greatly missed. As we navigate this world without her physical presence, we will forever carry her loving spirit in our hearts.
