Ava "Woody" Wood, 14, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on January 20, 2023 after a gunshot wound to her head by her father.

Ava was born on June 20th 2008 to Heather and Christopher Wood (deceased) in Baldwinsville. Ava attended Durgee Jr High School and was an honors student. While in school, she worked as a competitive spirit and enjoyed spending times with her friends and family. Ava was also extremely passionate about soccer and would oftentimes be found practicing. Ava had amazing friends and best friends and enjoyed spending time with them, eating, going to fairs and more. She was also a part of her school choir and was passionate about receiving JV awards. Ava’s memory will forever be cherished by Heather Wood; maternal grandparents, Geoffrey Jones, and Naomi Bosell; paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Wood; aunts and uncles, Anya Beauchat, Nicholas Jones, Laura Jones, and Jordan Wood; DJ Liggins.
