Austin's obituary
Austin Bourland, born April 17, 1974, sadly passed away on September 9, 2025. Known best for his humble, compassionate, and free-spirited nature, Austin was a beacon of patience and deeply loved by his family, friends, and community.
His favorite pastimes were as eclectic and unique as his personality. Austin was passionate about music, with a broad taste that ranged from Too Short to Neil Young, 80s rock n roll, and the beats of 1980s rap. Despite not being an avid television watcher, Austin found joy in Bruce Lee movies, which showcased his appreciation for martial arts and Eastern philosophy. He also found simple pleasure in his favorite foods, including shrimp, top ramen, and soda, often paired with his preferred drink, beer.
Austin was a regular fixture at various local gambling venues, where he enjoyed trying his luck on the gambling machines, and was known to take occasional trips to Laughlin - one of his favorite vacation spots. In his downtime, Austin liked nothing more than listening to music, reflecting his laid-back and free-spirited disposition.
Those who knew Austin could attest to his love for the colors blue and black - a fitting palette for a man who embodied the tranquility and strength these colors represent. His life's philosophy was rooted in selflessness, steadfastly believing in the importance of loving people the way you want to be loved, being genuine, and remaining true to oneself. This was a lesson he earnestly shared with everyone he crossed paths with.
Austin was lovingly received in death by his father, Michael Bourland, his stepfather John Moore and his mother Joan Moore. His legacy and memory are carried forward by his sister, Amber Moore, along with all who had the fortune of knowing him.
In the eyes of those who loved him, Austin's greatest legacy will always be his selflessness and steadfast love for others. His genuine spirit, and unwavering kindness will forever be remembered and missed. As we pay tribute to his life, we take comfort knowing that Austin now rests in the presence of our Father Jesus Christ. His memory and lessons will forever echo in the hearts of those he left behind.
