Austin's obituary

Austin Michael Bingham passed away peacefully at home in Aurora, Colorado, surrounded by loved ones on April 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Austin entered this world on November 17, 1994 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to April and Shawn Bingham. Austin was a beloved husband, son, brother, grandson, and friend.

As a little boy, Austin was sweet, animated, and extremely thoughtful. He always loved to be creative and play with his friends. One of his favorite past times was catching lizards in South Carolina. His love for baseball, shoes, Harry Potter, and Star Wars certainly did not end with childhood. Austin did everything with his whole heart. His extraordinary drive and ambition were present in everything he did. Austin was caring, passionate, and generous at every stage of his life. He surrounded himself with friends that laughed with him, and always told people how important and loved they were to him. He had a special talent of making his friends and family laugh hard and often.

Austin loved being outside and all of his hobbies put him outdoors. He found joy in playing softball and putting together teams of friends and family. Austin loved wrenching on his cars throughout his life, from the red Jetta to the Toyota Tundra (“big twuck”). In the summer, he loved playing a round of golf and then pouring a glass of whiskey and playing with his dogs Maverick and Goose in the backyard of the first home that he owned. In the fall he enjoyed fly fishing across Colorado with coworkers, family, and friends. His whole life, he was a devoted Red Sox and Patriots fan during both their winning and losing seasons.

Austin attended Grandview High School and then Metropolitan State University of Denver. He began working at Aztec Consultants during college and excelled in his positions starting as an instrument operator and working his way into a position as a party chief. His coworkers and managers became his extended family through all of the hard work and the office pranks.

In March of 2014, Austin met the love of his life Julie. Austin and Julie were inseparable and spent every moment possible together, even when Julie was away in Boulder for college. August 11, 2019, Austin and Julie were married in Lafayette, Colorado surrounded by friends and family at what was described as one of the most fun weddings ever. They bought a home together, adopted two rescue dogs, and planned out their whole future together.

Austin is survived by his wife, Julie, his mother, April Bingham, his father, Shawn Bingham, his sister Macy Bingham, his sister, Kylie Albaugh and brother-in-law, Brock Albaugh, his niece, Emmie Albaugh, his maternal grandmother, Victoria Munger, his maternal grandfather, Duane (Skip) Munger, his paternal grandfather, Sherman Bingham, his father-in-law, Jay Hardy Jr., his mother-in-law, Carrie Hardy, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his dog Goose. In heaven, he is reunited with his paternal grandmother, Valorie Bingham, and his soul dog, Maverick. Austin will be dearly missed by all those who are now being watched over by him in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2024 with more details to follow as the plans are finalized. Austin’s final resting place will be in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
