Aurora's obituary

Remembering Aurora Hernandez,

Beloved Mother, Sister, Tia, Grandma and Great-Grandma. She came to Oxnard at 14 years old from Ysleta, TX with her Mother and three of her sisters in 1945. Working in the fields of Ventura County, she met her husband-to-be, Santos Hernandez from Chihuahua, Mexico and they built a house in Oxnard together to raise their six children; Mario, Gilbert, Richy, Jaime, Ismael, and Lucinda. She was a crossing guard for many years and enjoyed being around the kids every day at work. Her favorite things were baseball, enchiladas, Clark Gable, Golden Age comic books, country music, Mariachi, and dancing to Big Band Swing. She is survived by her six children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many.
