Aubrey's obituary
Aubrey Alexis D’Angelo, 23, of Tijeras, New Mexico, was born on April 20, 2002, in Albuquerque, and left this world on August 20, 2025. She was the daughter of Dominic D’Angelo and Ananda Bode.
At the heart and center of Aubrey’s life were her beloved grandparents, Sam and Laura Parnell, who were not just her constant source of love, encouragement, and guidance but an anchor. With them she found the sort of devotion and peace that shapes a soul and carries it forward.
Aubrey was bright, funny, and deeply loved. She had a gift for making people smile, and she carried a warmth that touched everyone who knew her. She loved music—especially listening to Lana Del Rey, Deftones, and Radiohead—and she had recently begun teaching herself to play guitar. Her notebooks, scattered across her rooms like leaves are filled with her drawings and words, sketches of a restless imagination that refused to be still.
And then there were the animals. If some poor stray had lost its way, Aubrey would surely find it — and of course bring it home.
Aubrey is survived by her grandparents, Sam and Laura Parnell; her father, Dominic D’Angelo; her brother, Izzy D’Angelo; her younger siblings, Aurora D’Angelo; her stepmother, Christa Doggette; her aunts, Maria D’Angelo, Jasper Gillespie, Alexis Rollinger, and Alana Carver-Labrum, uncles John Rollinger and Mike Brown, and cousins, Gianna and Vinchenzo Jaramillo She is also remembered with love by many extended family members and friends.
Though she faced struggles with her mental health, she fought with courage and resilience. She will be remembered not for those struggles, but for her laughter, her creativity, and her heart.
Details about a memorial service will be shared in the coming days.
