My sister Athena was truly one of a kind. She was funny, mischievous, and always ready for a good time—the life of every gathering. A gifted artist, she had an incredible talent for creating beautiful decorations and fashion pieces. I’ll always treasure how much love and effort she poured into making my wedding decorations so special.
Athena loved music, her cats, and anything sci-fi—especially Star Trek. She had many passions, but her greatest love was her daughter, Katrina. Katrina enriched Athena’s life in a way nothing else ever could. She was dedicated to giving her the best education and worked tirelessly to support her in every endeavor.
My heart aches that Athena’s life was so short. I know she would be heartbroken to miss the new adventures ahead in Katrina’s life, but I also know she’ll be watching over her—beaming with pride.
Athena would have made the most wonderful old lady; she would have lit up any nursing home and had all the residents laughing until they cried. I miss her deeply and endlessly.
Love,
“Your baby sister,” as you loved to call me—
Rachel

I first met Athena in 1983 when she was dating the singer in my band. It was through her that I met and married my late wife, who was one of her friends. I owed her a great debt for that and I can only hope that the two of them have resumed their friendship on the other side.

Katrina and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. The pain from losing a loved one ,a mom a daughter a sister is so sad . Athena was truly a real presence in your family. She loved you all with a lot of emotion. And that is how she lived her life very deeply and whatever she was conquering at that time. I will miss her fun times and always remember the good memories. Love you all , Joani
