Asia's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Asia Burk, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend. Born on December 22nd, 1979, Asia left us too soon on October 17, 2022, leaving a legacy of kindness, generosity, and immense love. Her vivacity and joie de vivre touched everyone who knew her, and her absence will be felt more deeply than words can express.
Asia is survived by her husband, J. Bradley Burk, her beloved daughter, Madison Shaw, her devoted stepsons, Branden and Bradey Burk, her loving mother, Angela Shaw, and her siblings, Brandyn, Richard, Tyler, Micha, and Robert Shaw. She also leaves behind a cherished sister-in-law, Tara Shaw, and her dear sister, Chrissy Shaw. Her memory will be carried on by the Grauberger and King families, and by the family of Brandy Rose. She is predeceased by her siblings, Randi Shaw, Roman Shaw, Shawn Williams, and her father, Richard Shaw Jr.
With a palate that savored BBQ, soul food, Chinese, and Greek cuisine, and a fondness for Route 44 coke from Sonic and her famous pineapple beach drink, Asia's culinary passions were as diverse as her interests. An aficionado of old school R&B and Soul music, she had a deep appreciation for cultural arts. Her favorite books included Howl’s Moving Castle, and she was a steadfast fan of TV shows such as Startrek Voyager, Gravity Falls, Anime, and Adventure Time.
Known for her playful spirit, Asia enjoyed gaming, with favorites including Sims 3-4, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. She loved live performances and was a passionate patron of minimalist art. In her leisure time, Asia would often be found singing, cooking, painting, watching anime, spending time with her children, or taking care of her family. She relished in the simplicity of running and her most cherished vacation spot was St. Augustine, Florida. With a penchant for red and pink, Asia's vibrant personality mirrored her taste in colors.
Asia was best described as kind, giving, strong, intelligent, and loving. Her greatest accomplishment was being the best mom anyone could have. She will be remembered for her fortitude and warmth, and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. May her soul rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
