Ashton's obituary

We mourn the loss of Ashton Moreno, who left us far too soon on August 9, 2024. Born in 1979, Ashton bravely battled Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis which she was diagnosed with in 1981. It was this early challenge that molded her into the resilient and vibrant woman she was.

Ashton is lovingly remembered by her husband, Renato Quilalang, whom she married in 2022. Their love and companionship were a beacon of warmth to all who witnessed them. She is also survived by her mother, Alice Moreno, and her sibling, Charissa Moreno. She was predeceased by her father, Gonzalo Moreno, whose memory she always held close to her heart.

She graduated from El Rancho High School in 1997 and went on to earn an A.A. in Arts & Literature from Santa Monica College in 2022. One of her proudest achievements was earning her college degree, demonstrating her tenacity and dedication.

Ashton was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed steak, sushi, and champagne, but never turned her nose up to a good pizza or enchilada. Ashton's eclectic taste in music spanned from George Michael, Depeche Mode, to The Descendents, Strung Out, Silversun Pickups, Pixies, The Get Up Kids, and At the Drive In. Never shy about being late to the party, she enjoyed discovering '90s R&B (aka, "make out music").

She loved to unwind with her favorite TV shows - Sex & the City, Beverly Hills 90210 - and movies like Titanic, Dirty Dancing, and Twilight. She "played puzzle" to keep her mind sharp, and she spent leisurely time listening to music and doting on her hair and nail color, on which she often received compliments.

Spunky and spirited, through her perseverance, Ashton always reminded those around her that "you are stronger than you know". She was passionate about the things and people she loved. Her affection for her fur-babies, Willow and Brewster, was unparalleled, and their paws will surely miss her warmth.

Ashton's legacy will continue to inspire and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her loved ones. May her journey onwards be pain-free and as beautiful as the life she led.
