Ashley's obituary

Ashley Justin Lomont (Ash) of San Diego passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2024, at the age of forty-seven after a courageous battle with cancer. Ash was a loving father, loyal friend, real estate broker, avid traveler and sports enthusiast.

Ash grew up in Seal Beach where he attended McGaugh school, participated in junior lifeguards and boy scouts. It was here that he developed a love for surfing. A natural athlete, Ash excelled at sports, particularly soccer, which he played at the varsity level at Los Alamitos High School. Ash graduated from the University of San Diego with a B. A. in Business. His real estate career was notable for his expertise in short-sales. In 2014, Ash married Lida Schwartz in San Diego, where they raised their 2 beautiful children.

Ash traveled the world in pursuit of adventures and a good time. Whether it was surfing, golfing, camping, or simply enjoying a day at the beach with friends and family, Ash lived life to the fullest. Special about Ash was the many close friends he developed and cherished through out his life. While Ash’s life was cut short, it’s the sparkle of his children that kept him living until the end.

Ash is survived by his parents Donald and Jeanne Lomont of Seal Beach, his wife Lida Schwartz Lomont, his cherished children, Leo Julian Lomont (7) and London James Lomont (4) all of San Diego, his sister Amanda Lomont Mellen, brother-in-law Doug Mellen, sister-in-law Jenna Schwartz Dagley, brother-in-law Jack Dagley, brother-in-law Cameron Schwartz, sister-in-law Amanda Schwartz. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, Tommy Mellen, Brandon Mellen, Brooklyn Dagley, Jack Dagley, Minoo Schwartz.

A paddle out will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 11am at the North side of the Seal Beach Pier, followed by a celebration of his life at The Beach House in Seal Beach from 1-4pm. All are welcome to attend and share in the memories of a life well-lived.
