Ascension's obituary
With faith, love, and trust in God’s promise, we share that Ascension Reyna went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2026. Born on May 10, 1945, Ascension lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting legacy within his family and all those who knew him.
Ascension was a man of depth and passion, always displaying remarkable insight and a proudly patriotic spirit. Known for his incisive intellect, he consistently showcased a thirst for knowledge and was an ever-curious student of life. He showed unwavering love for his family, considering his four daughters as some of his greatest accomplishments.
His life lessons emphasized the importance of establishing and maintaining a close relationship with Jesus Christ, a faith that greatly influenced and anchored his life. His lasting legacy, a loving, committed family, stands as a testament to his profound influence.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Rachel Stetzer and spouse Jerry Stetzer; Susie Berry; Laura Wilson; and Lisa Reyna and fiancée John Zak. He is also survived by his lifelong friend and the mother of his beautiful daughters, Margie Avila, and her husband, Vidal Avila. Cherishing his memory are his beloved grandchildren, Taylor Stetzer, Kaylin Stetzer, Jacob Berry, Joshua Gillest, Chloe Reyna, and Julia Wilson; and his great-grandchildren, Nora McElroy, Theo Stetzer, and Jack Hiler and his many brothers and sisters. They continue to carry his spirit in their hearts, symbolizing his eternal presence within our lives.
He was predeceased by his parents, Cruz and Maria Reyna, and his siblings, Christy Sanchez and Pete Reyna, first grandson, Jordan Stetzer and son-in-law, Sam Berry. Their reunions beyond the veil of this world offer comfort and hope to those he leaves behind.
Ascension's life was a testament to humble wisdom, unyielding faith, and unconditional love. His presence will be greatly missed, but we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit lives on through his wonderful family and in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
