Arville's obituary

Arville Leroy Mathews was born on January 10, 1933, to
Jessie and Louvenia (Green) Mathews in Natchitoches, Louisiana. A patriot at
heart, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from
June 10, 1955, until receiving his honorable discharge.

Following his service, Arville moved to Houston, Texas,
where he met the love of his life, Annie Mae Montgomery. Their union was
blessed with four daughters: Vanessa Guidry, Letha Mathews, Audrey Ruiz, and
Rose Leon. The family later settled in Beaumont, Texas, where Arville built a
career at Arco Chemical Company and later at Shackleford Roofing Company, from
which he eventually retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and
Louvenia; his beloved wife, Annie Mae (Montgomery) Mathews; his brothers, Levi,
Joseph, Leo, Robert, Grady, and McKinley Mathews; and his sisters, Ivey Lee
(Mathews) Pierce, Jessie Mae (Mathews) Doty, Annie Beatrice (Mathews) Braden,
Dora Lean (Mathews) Prosha, Annie Mae (Mathews) Jack, and Ola Mae Mathews.

He leaves to cherish his memory his four daughters, Vanessa
Guidry, Letha Mathews, Audrey Ruiz, and Rose Leon; and his beloved
grandchildren: Jedadiah Joseph Mathews, Audrey Marie Ramirez, Shonte' Renee'
Leonard, Wilgert Guillory, Ronald Leroy Leon, Olajade’ Suade’ Semiene, Joseph
Broussard Leon, Devon Jones, Jacqueline Baker, Virginia Williams, Shaquita
Howard, Xavier Ardion and Alisa Johnson. He is also survived by a host of
great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Arville was a man of quiet strength and dedication. His
legacy of hard work and the love he poured into his family will remain in the
hearts of those he leaves behind. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit
lives on in the memories we cherish. He will be greatly missed.
