Arturo “Mike” Perez, age 65, received a new address on January 8, 2026.

Arturo was born on February 19, 1960, to Maria Chavez in Carlsbad, New Mexico. A graduate from the University of Tennessee with a degree in teaching, he taught Special Education at Fort Sanders. He also worked at SeaRay Boats for several years and worked for the United States Postal Service for over two decades.

In 1988, he met his wife of 36 years - Kimberly- and together raised eight wonderful children. Throughout his life, he enjoyed taking his children on adventures, playing tennis, fishing, watching movies and watching the VOLS play at Neyland stadium.

He is preceded in death by; Mother Maria Chavez, brother John Lazos, sister Mary Helen Montes Boothe, and brother Rudy Chavez. He is survived by; wife Kimberly Perez, son Joshua Skiles (Danica), son Colton Perez (Erika), son Austin Perez (Danielle), daughter Amber Perez, son Michael Perez, son Joseph Perez, daughter Taylor Perez, daughter Dorothy Perez, brother Danny Chavez, sister Lilly Chavez, brother Michael Perez, sister Mary Chavez, brother Eliseo Chavez, and numerous grandchildren, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Park West Church of God on Monday, January 12, 2026, with a greeting of family and friends beginning at 5pm, and a service to follow at 6pm.
