I remember talking to Fred and Susan about needing a job so many years ago. Fred didn’t hesitate on having me come work for him. He told me everyday how good I did. And watching him work with his clients and helping them hear was such a gift to watch. He was truly a special treasure that I am incredibly thankful to have met.

His advice helped shape many important decisions, and I will always be grateful for the time and support he so generously gave, and such a funny guy! My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those who were lucky enough to know and learn from him. Fred was one of a kind and he will be missed !

I'm so verry sorry to hear of Fred's passing. His passion and enthusiasm for our profession was something special and, as a mentor, he taught me so much. His dry humor is absolutely unforgettable! May he rest in peace.

First, I was very shocked to hear of Fred’s passing.
I met Fred when I was president of the hearing aid Association back in the late 80s. He was in a lobbyist. We became best friends. He worked tirelessly on that until it passed in 2000.
Fred also worked with me in Hawaii at my office there. He ran that office for about six months and went back to New York.
The best thing about Fred was that he was always upbeat, lots of energy everybody like Fred!
I learned a lot from Fred. Most of all his loyalty to those around him, his friends, family, and the association.
There’s no replacing Fred Goossen! He was one of a kind and he will be missed.

As Immediate Past President of the International Hearing Society, I met Fred about 18 years ago and worked, drank, ate and golfed with him on many occasions. He had Character and a personality that could fill up all ballroom and he literally did that every year at our annual conference. He made contributions both financially and by his service to our Society that will live on in perpetuity. He will be missed. I will pray for his family in this time of grief. Sincerely, Patrick S. Kochanowski

Fred had just gotten the propeller back on the boat and was taking it out for a joy ride. He waved with his happy smile that he always shared. He will be missed by so many.

The world lost a wonderful man, a great friend and mentor to many and a man who loved his family. I will always remember our fun times at both IHS and state conferences and our talks about the industry and parenting.
