The following is from Aunt Pat to honor Arthurย
It is with a heavy heart that I grieve the passing of my beloved Arthur. ย I thank God for the years he gave to Nadine and the boys as well as our family. ย
1 Corinthians 13: defines love as being generous, patient and kind . That is Arthur. ย Love is not boastful, Arthur was not boastful; Love is not arrogant nor resentful, Arthur was neither arrogant nor resentful; ย Love is not conceited, neither was Arthur conceited. ย His love has defied time, space, distance and circumstances.ย
The essence of your regular prayers, ministered when you visited me over the years still remains in my living room. ย The calaloo and tomatoes as gifts for me from your garden, I now acknowledge again. ย
The welcome party in heaven consist of those in our family who might not have known you. Stand in the heavenly balcony and enjoy them. ย Thank you for listening patiently to our silly, funny family stories.
I grieve the change and mileage in distance from you all. ย From your example, we will use the cross as a clarifying force. ย We now have a new normal to contend with. ย
We commit to raising your sons as you would want us to, in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
ย ย Arthur was dedicated to his family. ย He was dedicated to God and his church. ย
โThe measure of the manโ by Sidney Poitier is how you take care of your family. ย I would like you to know that Arthur was THE MAN! ย
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed but not in despair. Persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8 - We will wait on the Lord to renew our strength so that we can mount up with wings as eagles, we shall run and not be weary, we shall walk and not faint. ย
Sleep on beloved, sleep and take your rest. ย We love you, yes, but Jesus loves you best. ย Good night.
Loveย
Aunt Pat
