Arthur's obituary
Art was born in New Jersey and raised in Delaware. He served in the Korean War. He earned his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the NJ Institute of Technology. He continued his education with additional courses at Rutgers University.
Art was Division Manager at the HP NJ Division before transferring to Loveland, CO, in 1982 becoming the Research and Development Manager. In 1984, he moved to the Fort Collins Division, establishing a software development group before becoming General Manager.
Art was well-known in Fort Collins serving on the boards of the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry. He was also a member of an educational advisory group. He served as the HP Executive Partner to CSU, overseeing academic and philanthropic relations with the University. Perhaps, however, his most valued trait was the way he extended himself to encourage those around him to recognize and achieve their potential.
After retiring, Art became CSU’s Interim Vice President for Administrative Services for two years and then two years later became Interim Director of Continuing Education for three years.
Art went on to teach math at a community college and a charter high school. He followed this by tutoring students and adults in math, Pre-Algebra through Calculus 3.
Art loved his family and had a passion for math, technology, music, and education. He loved the ocean, the West, and the night sky. He was confident yet listened carefully to what other people had to say. He had an underlying kindness and a generous heart.
Art is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce, four children, Tom, Bill, Lynn, and Jamie and their spouses, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
