Arthur's obituary
Arthur Frank Cobb died peacefully on the morning of Sunday, April 28, 2024, in his home in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Arthur was born on September 12, 1950, in Butler, Pennsylvania to Walter Cobb and Aileen (Moye) Cobb. He was affectionately called Artie. He attended Penn Township Elementary School, Knoch High School, and Slippery Rock College.
He moved to Washington, DC during the ‘70s. He married Beverly Washington on May 22, 1993, and they raised two fur babies, the beagles Buddy and Daisy.
A devoted son, brother, cousin, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law, husband, friend, colleague, neighbor, and community activist, he is survived by his loving wife and siblings, Walter, Arlene, Barbara, and Fred.
He will be remembered for his love of the arts, music, electronic media, world travel, entrepreneurialism, gardening, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and chocolate.
Art was a talented master jazz drummer. Many bands, vocalists, theater groups, and a variety of audiences enjoyed his ability to balance the timekeeping rhythm of a song with technique and feeling.
Art’s beaming smile was the light of his personality and will live on in our memories of him.
