Background

We are establishing a Pierson High School memorial scholarship to be awarded to a graduating special needs student who has shown persistence and courage in pursuing their studies. Mr. Cardone loved teaching and believed in giving all students opportunities to reach their full potential. At a time before IEPs were commonplace, he and his then wife advocated for their daughter Mary, who has Down Syndrome, to be mainstreamed. The family is forever grateful to Sag Harbor School District for supporting our Mary with the educational and social foundation to live her best life. We are working with the school to set up the scholarship starting in 2023. Contribute   Right arrow
