Arthur pasted away peacefully on Friday, September 27th, 2019 with family by his bedside. Arthur was 77 years old, pasted away after a long fight with ALS. Arthur enjoyed Golf, Saturday night drives in his Corvette, he loved spending as much time with family as his health would permit. Arthur also loved music, in the 1960s Arthur worked for Gibson guitar company where he learned how to assemble guitars and created his passion for music. Arthur also loved to travel, trips to Germany, France, Western Europe are some to name. Arthur was a man of giving back, spent 6 months in South Africa in the mid 1980s working with young children and bringing fresh drinking water to struggling communities. Arthur's surviving wife Dorthey lives in Gobles, MI in the house they shared for 25 years, Arthur was a loving, caring, generous father to 3 boys. Rick Burkhardt (57), Michael Burkhardt Sr. (56) and William Cady (55). Arthur also has 5 Grand-Children that he loved sharing time with, fishing, sporting events, Friday night high school football games, camping. Arthur did live out his dream of seeing his great grand-children born. This tragic loss is a time for our family to come together and remain strong in faith, Arthur is looking from Heaven and smiling knowing how many people cared for him and will keep his memories living for many many years to come.
