Buddy's obituary
Arthur Fenner "Buddy" Brown Jr., 66, of Cape Coral, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2024. Born on March 4, 1958, in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Arthur Fenner Brown Sr. and Josephine Scungio Brown.
Buddy served in the United States Navy Reserve from 1991 to 1997, where he dedicated six years to serving his country with honor and commitment. His time in the service was marked by a discipline and camaraderie that he carried into his civilian life.
A devout Catholic, Buddy was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and his generous spirit. Buddy's outgoing and gracious personality made him a beloved figure in his community. He was always ready to lend a hand or share his culinary creations. A fantastic chef, Buddy found joy in cooking, a hobby that he often shared with friends and family at gatherings.
Besides his love for cooking, Buddy had a passion for NASCAR, which he followed avidly, enjoying the thrill and excitement of every race. His love for cats and all of God's creatures spoke volumes about his kind and caring nature.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Cheryl Brown; stepson, Joseph Evans; sister, Pamela Carey and her fiancé Daniel Amussen; and niece, Marissa Weast and her husband Lane Weast. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Fenner Brown Sr. and Josephine Scungio Brown.
Buddy also leaves behind his closest friends, Rich Nizza, Father Chris of Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord. Carol McBride, Barbara Kingston and Rick Conklin.
While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate Buddy Brown's life and all the joy he brought into our lives. His legacy is one of love and service. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering faith, and his enduring spirit that will continue to resonate within us all.
A mass in Buddy's honor will be held at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, with the date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul of Cape Coral.
