Arlene's obituary

Arlene Frances (Kary) Faiman passed away in her Arizona Home October 14th, 2022. Arlene was born on March 2nd, 1946 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Robert Kary and Irene (Hecker) Kary.

While attending Dickinson State High School she had several jobs and two of her favorites were working at St Joseph’s Hospital as an aide and with Dr Hanson Chiropractic Services.

After graduation she married her high school sweetheart Doug Faiman in 1966. They had two children, DarlaRae and Scott. In 1972 They moved to Bismarck, ND where they raised their family.

Arlene worked for the Church of Ascension and Father Becwar where she was active on the building committee, financial committee, treasury secretary, and was instrumental in the development of curriculum and finding teachers for the religious education program (CCD) for the youth of the church.

Arlene then served as Easter Seals of North Dakota Special Program Director. She ran fund raising events, set up telemarketers, and coordinated the yearly telethon before retiring in 1998.

After several years in Bismarck, Arlene and Doug purchased a home in Arizona and then one in Fargo, North Dakota. They enjoyed being snowbirds and their family in each of the states.

Besides her deep love for grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved her animals, from dog rescues to horse rescues. She was the first to volunteer should any family member or friend need a dog sitter. Her fur family will miss her snuggles and treats.

Arlene will be greatly missed as she loved her family dearly and was always their ultimate cheerleader. Her love for her children and grandchildren was fierce and passionate. She is survived by her husband Douglas Faiman, daughter DarlaRae (Doug) Nelson of Chandler, Arizona, son, Scott (Allison) Faiman of West Fargo, North Dakota, grandchildren, Catlin Nelson, Brendan and Samantha Nelson, Delaney and Alex Hogenson, Grace Faiman, and Great Grandchildren, Amelia, Rory, and Smith, 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Kary.

The family wishes to thank Red River Valley Hospice of North Dakota and Hospice of the Valley of Arizona for the care and compassion they showed during Arlene’s short time with them.

Wyman Funeral of Mesa, Arizona will be handling the cremation and a memorial will be set at a future date. Any donations you wish to make should be to the charity of your choice.
