Artie's obituary
Arlen "Artie" Jaros, 77, of Blaine, MN, peacefully passed away on May 12, 2022 surrounded by loved ones and family.
Artie was born to Edward & Vivian Jaros and grew up in Northeast Minneapolis. After Artie obtained his GED, he served in the Army. After serving, Artie worked for the State of Minnesota in the Human Service field for several years, until he started his own business in vocational rehabilitation. Artie worked as a Job Placement Specialist helping those as they returned to a career following an injury. Artie was passionate about helping people and loved what he did for a living.
He married Carol, the love of his life, in 1972, who survives him. Artie is also survived by their two children, Derick and his wife Daniela and Terina and her husband Derrick. His grandchildren Brennen, McKenna, Ashton, Ellie, Cole, Gabriela and Alexander. Brothers Dean and his wife Linda, Robert and his wife Joan. Sisters Leanne Braseth, Renee Schaffer and Jeanyne Knerr; sister in law Elda (Jan's wife); as well as a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, good friends and neighbors.
Artie was predeceased by his parents Edward & Vivian Jaros and brothers Jan & Ronnald.
A memorial service will be held at The Lakewood Cemetery Chapel on Friday, June 3, at 1:00 PM. Artie generously donated his body to the University of Minnesota Bequest Program and will be interned at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
A Celebration of Life and 50 years marriage & memories will follow at Elsie's in Northeast Minneapolis from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Artie and Carol would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 27th of this year and it was Artie's request to celebrate this with Carol in his absence with food, cake, coffee, and cash bar available.
