Arleen's obituary
Arleen Federico Landry, 48, peacefully passed away after a long battle with Spinal Cerebellum Ataxia on Tuesday, October 2, 2023. True to her personality, she fought with the same grace and strength that she was so well known for. She was loving, selfless, forgiving, and a fighter. All that knew her, enjoyed her beautiful smile and being in her presence.
Arleen was born on October 25, 1974 to Russell J. Federico and Earleen I. Federico she lived in St. Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina when she moved to St. Tammany parish. After Arleen graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1992, she pursued a degree in education at Northeast University in Monroe, La. She then went on to complete her Masters in Education from The University of New Orleans.
After graduation, she taught science at Andrew Jackson High School for 14 years. She then went on to become the Director of Educational Programs for Catholic Charities for over 10 years. Arleen was passionate about children and loved what she did for a living.
Arleen loved decorating for all holidays and filling her house with family and friends. Her favorite season was Fall. She was always known for Nan’s pumpkin patch that covered her front lawn.
Arleen was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Earleen Federico. She is survived by her wife Ann Percle, her twins, Andrew and Alyse (22), brother Russell Federico Jr., sisters Marleen (EJ), Karleen (David). Her beloved nieces and nephews, Kate, Dean, Amelia, Hunter, Madison, Monique, Ladd, Cameron, Chloe and many, many, more family and friends that she loved dearly.
Services will be held at Pearl River Methodist Church on October 14, 2023, Visitation will begin at 10am followed by services at 11. Immediately following the service, we will continue her celebration next door at the Agape Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to National Ataxia Foundation.
