Arinda's obituary

Arinda Beard Belote, 92

Arinda Beard Belote, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1932, to the late Lloyd F. Beard, Sr. and Sara White Beard. She was the third oldest of ten children and loved her siblings fiercely.

Arinda was a long-time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Seaford, DE. She worked for DuPont, Sizemore Realty and The Manor House, over the course of her life. She liked to do cross stitch and embroidery, as well as make quilts and homemade greeting cards. She loved to bake, she was famous in her family for her delicious yeast rolls, fudge, and monkey bread. She bowled in a league for many years and still followed the game on TV. She loved to read, was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, and never knew a stranger. She often spent many summers at the beach with her family and often took vacations there with her sisters. She was a collector of jewelry, angels, and bells, often found at yard sales or auctions. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always taking pictures and telling everyone about her little boy, Evan. In her later years, she enjoyed watching hummingbirds, cardinals and blue jays from her window.

She is survived by her son, Marc Belote, and her daughter, Laurie (Belote) Truitt and her husband, Michael Truitt, her grandchildren, Zachary M. Truitt and his wife, Ricki, Amanda (Truitt) Ensor and her husband, Carl Ensor, and Cody Belote and his wife, Ashley. Also, her great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Stevie Tibbs, Evan Truitt, Bailey Ensor, and Saylor and Alayna Belote. Arinda is survived by her sisters, Ellen Messick, Sally Johnson, Leona Tull, and her brother, David Beard, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Arinda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd F. Beard, Sr., and Sara White Beard, siblings; Lloyd F. Beard Jr., Jeanne Klemens, Mary Helen “Mimi” Quillen, Barbara Widdowson, Betsy Carmine, and her husband, Gwynn L. Belote and son, Dana L. Belote.

Join us for a celebration of life on February 22nd at 2 pm at Christ Lutheran Church Hall on 315 North Shipley Street Seaford DE 19973.
