I am so saddened to hear about Arfan’s sudden passing. I was at ASB when I met Arfan; we played the saxophone together at SAISA band, and we both did SAISA track. I moved back to the US in 2013 and we have been able to stay in touch because of my numerous trips to Philly; he was either kind enough to host me or make time to see me. The last couple times I saw him were in Nov 2024 and May 2025 in Philly, both for races I was running, which have been fun topics to talk about and a moment for us to reminisce on our SAISA days given we both were more short distance runners in high school. My last exchanges with him were from May, where he was giving me insanely thoughtful and helpful advice about my work situation at the time which was causing me a lot of stress. That was definitely a testament to how amazing of a friend he was. I’m going to miss him so much. Sending my condolences to all of his family and friends.

it's hard to write obituary for a young, prosperous, handsome young man of 29, specially when he is your youngest nephew who just got married to a wonderful young women. It's an unimaginable loss! He had Soo much to offer, so much to live for and so much to give us! We can't console ourselves and specially his parents, his only sister and his wonderful wife, we have no words but to🙏! We can only say, God loved him more than us, He wants him by 'His' side. Alhamdulillah. We are left with enormous loss forever! But he will be forever in our hearts and minds until we die.

Love to you ARFAN to eternity from your fuppi😢

I was so sorry to hear about Arfan's sudden passing.  My deepest sympathies to all of his friends and family.

Arfan was one of those friends with a truly big heart. We met at AISD when I complimented him on his fedora hat and asked how he managed to fit all that big hair underneath it. From that moment on, we became best friends, and even as the years went by and life took us all in different directions, he never stopped looking back fondly on those times. Those memories from high school are still some of my favorite ones to this day too..

Even though we weren’t always great at keeping in touch, his last message to me said “I always have time for you!” That one line captures who Arfan was, someone who genuinely cared, who always made time for his friends, and who carried so much love and kindness in everything he did. I’ll always remember him that way.

Baiya (Arfan) was my one and only big brother. As a kid, I couldn't say older brother in Bengali properly, so he became my Baiya instead of Bhaia. I made this website in honor of him, to share his story, and to have a platform for his dearest family and friends to remember him by. I was spoiled rotten as a little sister with him as a big brother. I knew he always had my back, he was always there for me no matter what. Whenever I was in trouble he would give me thoughtful advice and would always help. He made me feel safe in this awful world, and I will always cherish the memories I had with him. Thank you Baiya for being my big brother, I was the luckiest little sister in the whole world.

Arfan was the only son of my younger brother, Shayer. He was always cheerful and kind-hearted. Handsome and charming by nature, Arfan easily became close to everyone he met. People of all ages found it effortless to form a warm friendship with him, and those bonds always turned lasting.

His genuine love and affection for others made him truly special and left a permanent mark in everyone’s heart. His untimely passing is a profound loss for me and for our entire family. His sudden and heartbreaking departure has brought us deep sorrow.

We are deeply saddened by the end of such a beautiful and promising young life. Our boundless love for him will remain eternal in our hearts.

My sincere and deepest condolences to Arfan's wife and family. Arfan is beloved to the Arrastia family. We have such fond memories of Arfan from Dhaka and our time at AISD. I remember Arfan as a bright middle school boy full of energy a great sense of humor a love of music and a good friend to my daughter. Arfan was always smiling and had such a positive energy around him that was infectious. I was fortunate to have Arfan as a music student and know that he loved to play the saxophone. My family and I are so saddened to hear of his passing. We will keep Arfan and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Arfan!
I was very sad when I heard the news of Arfan's passing.  May God bless his soul and give all the friends and family strength to get through this tough time.🙏🙏
After the passing of my boyfriend in 2013. I went to visit the place where he lived and meet his friends. Arfan was one of those precious  few friends he had and even though I had never met Arfan before, he welcomed me as though I had been his friend for many years. Receiving Arfan’s kindness was a big stepping stone in my journey of healing from losing someone I loved so dearly.
May Allah grant Arfan the highest place in jannah. He was a great friend who always made an effort to visit us every time he was in Houston. He always had a big smile on his face and made jokes to make everyone laugh around him. He is more than a friend to us, he is our brother, our family. We miss him every day and will cherish every moment we shared together. ❤️
Arfan was a great friend growing up. Will always keep those memories with me.

Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit will live on in all of us, in our laughter, our stories, and our gatherings as a family. We are forever changed by his presence and forever grateful that he was a part of our lives. His memory will always live on and is a blessing. Arfan is forever.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.

May Allah swt grant you Jannatul Ferdaus’ala, Aameen!
Arfan, my youngest brother. My close eyes can still see his smile. He will be in my thoughts and prayers always. Love you Bhaia.
