Background
I am Aretha's son in-law, Scott, raising funds on behalf of Aretha's daughters.
We are asking for donations rather than flowers to help support Aretha's family during this difficult time.
Our goal is to honor her memory and celebrate her life in the exact way she would want. Aretha always talked about missing out on her high school prom and wanted to make up for that missed experience. We planned on taking her to an adult prom this year but unfortunately, she left us before then.
We are planning to give her a prom-themed celebration of life so that she can be smiling and dancing along with us from above. She deserves this and it will ensure that her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Aretha also told us that she wanted her ashes spread around the coast as the beach was one of her favorite places to be.
Donations will be used for the celebration of life, spreading her ashes as well as supporting her daughters to get the therapy that they need to continue their lives without both of their parents.
The family regrets not having any life insurance to cover these costs but are incredibly grateful for everyone's financial support. Contribute
