My mother fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s for over 12 years. Our family fought along side with her, especially my father, who retired early to provide and care for her 24/7.
On December 22 we received the terrible news that she was actively dying and would likely pass within a matter of days. My mother had reached the end of her journey with this terrible illness.
She was at home surrounded by her family as she took her last breath. We cried and held each other, kissed my mother and told her we loved her. It was devastating and incredible what her body had done for her these recent years. She was no longer suffering and we found solace and peace in that. Contribute
