Ms. Aqueelah Ilyas, age 70, passed away on July 24, 2025, in Clinton, Mississippi. Born on August 19, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, she lived a life marked by deep intellect, unwavering principles, and a profound connection to those around her.
Aqueelah was a remarkable individual whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her life was guided by honesty and moral integrity—qualities that shaped her relationships and inspired trust and admiration. She possessed a rare intelligence and insight that allowed her to see the world with clarity and depth. Her wisdom served as a beacon for many, offering guidance during times of uncertainty.
Though she held high standards and could be discerning in her views, this stemmed from a sincere desire for authenticity and fairness. She is survived by her brother Omar; daughter-in-law Christina; and granddaughter Sheba—each of whom carries forward the legacy of love, strength, and wisdom.
