April was a loving soul. She had a son named Casey James Brown who she loved very much. 2014 was the last time she saw him. She tried to reach out to him after but she couldn't get through. It broke her heart but she never gave up hope that she might see him again. I will never stop searching for you, April.

Her cousin, Jessie Jo Shands, and I called her Sis. We grew close to her over the last couple of years. She loved Jesus, followed his way, and wanted to share it with everyone. She loved family gatherings, although at first, she was a little hesitant and shy. As beautiful as she was, and we never judged how she looked, we couldn't understand why. But, she got over that quickly, especially when we started going down more often to visit when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. April jumped in full swing to care for her mother- the many trips to the doctors, hospitals, and chemotherapy visits and going to get her mom's prescriptions. I know she was overwhelmed and tired but she never gave up. She was amazing. Jessie and I would encourage her all the time. Jessie and I still look for the messages she would sometimes send us in the mornings, "Good Morning Sunshine. I hope you have a blessed day". We miss you, Sister. You will not be forgotten.
