March 26, 1974 – January 7, 2025
Amy Danielle Barnard, age 50, of Fairfield, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Tuesday January 7th. Born on March 26, 1974 in Centreville, Illinois, Amy had a knack for making people smile, whether through her whimsical collection of fairies and gnomes or saying something that just made you scratch your head and wonder if she even knew what she was talking about.
Amy dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a care worker for the elderly and mentally incapacitated. She treated her clients like family, spreading joy wherever she went. Her adventurous and spontaneous spirit allowed her to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, whether it was celebrating nature, finding beauty in the unexpected, or just enjoying the magic of the moment.
She joins her father, Gary Hayes; her husband, John Barnard; and her beloved grandson, Sol Buckley.
Amy leaves behind her mother, Deborah Hoffee of Fairfield, Illinois; her daughter, Tailyr (Alexander Schultz) Buckley of Wausau, Wisconsin; and her seven cherished grandchildren—Bentley, Jeb, Zachary, Kay, Octavia, Delilah, and Kylarin. She is also survived by her brothers, James (Jami) Hayes of Delaware, Ohio, and Jonathan Hayes of Granite City, Illinois, along with her nieces Madeline (Tyler) Stuber and Mckenzie Hayes.
A celebration of Amy’s life will be held on March 29, 2025, in Fairfield, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her vibrant spirit and sharing their favorite memories.
In the words of Amy herself, life is best lived with a little sparkle and a lot of heart. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
